Over the past six months, ICAERUS partners have been actively promoting the project’s progress and achievements across Europe.
From strategic meetings to collaborative forums, ICAERUS continues to drive innovation and strengthen capacity building within Agricultural, Environmental, and Rural UAV Services.

In May Agricultural University of Athens presented ICAERUS in a webinar hosted by the Beatles EU project titled “Sustainability
Impact of Climate-Smart Agriculture: Balancing Environmental, Economic and Social Pillars”.
Also, on June 24, 2025, Aikaterini Kasimati lectured to students of the 2025 Summer School Program, co-organised by the Texas A&M Energy Institute and the Agricultural University of Athens. During the lecture, students had the opportunity to learn more about ICAERUS, the Role of AI, Robotics, and Data Management in the Agri-Food Sector.

On 10 July 2025, the Smart Farming & Technology Group at the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) hosted SynErgia Day, showcasing innovations in digital agriculture, sustainability, and rural transformation.
The day began with a field demo of spraying and mapping drones in the university’s vineyard, highlighting technologies from ICAERUS EU, Oper-8, and ClimateFarmDemo, led by Vasilis Psiroukis. Inside, presentations covered over 15 Horizon Europe projects, about: Thematic Networks, Behavioural Science & Rural Futures, Rural Advisory & Digital Innovation.
On Wednesday, May 7th, George Fragkopoulos from ΕΣΥΦ Ελληνικός Σύνδεσμος Φυτοπροστασίας – HCPA Hellenic Crop Protection Association, presented the ICAERUS EU project during an HCPA lecture at University of Thessaly on “Plant protection products legislation, protection of human health and the environment and the EU Vision for agriculture and food”.
The lecture was for students of the “Phytoiatrics and Environment” Master’s program.

Wageningen University participated in the EGU General Assembly 2025 (European Geosciences Union) in Vienna. presenting on “Features from Multispectral Drone Data: Curating, training, and distributing Transformers for all”.

Beta via was hosted by the Forest and Land Owners Association of Lithuania (FOAL).
Sonata Adomavičiūtė-Grabusovė’s presentation led to an energizing discussion that revealed real, on-the-ground demand for ICAERUS solutions. One standout idea: using AI-powered drones with infrared sensors to accurately monitor wildlife populations in forests. Practical, needed, and impactful — this is exactly the kind of real-world value we’re here to deliver.
Institut de l’Élevage (Idele) brought ICAERUS project in the spotlight at 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, organized by 𝐄𝐀𝐀𝐏 – 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. IDELE took part in Session F, titled “AI for Research and Farm Management: Leveraging AI to address research challenges in various animal science disciplines and improve informed decision-making”.

In May, Ecological Interaction‘s Jonathan Minchin presented the project at a webinar for the master’s students in the IACC’s Design for Distributed Innovation program as well as during a guest lecture on Computational Agroecology for students of the Eindhoven Artificial Intelligence Systems Institute.

On May 6th the ICAERUS Project Management Board Meeting brought consortium partners together in Vilnius, Lithuania to share updates, plan for the final year of the project and take part in a live drone demonstration in Lithuania’s Trakai Forest.
Get ready for more live demo events and ICAERUS platform updates this year.
