About this online Couse
"Developing business ideas for drone technologies"
This free course is an introductory course designed to provide learners with an initial view of the drone industry, from its evolution to the potential market opportunities available. Recent developments and the latest industry data are presented to help participants identify opportunities and potential for their own drone business idea.
The Online Course is spread over 8 weeks:
Week 1
Introduction to the drone business
- Drone industry and market analysis, with a presentation of the technology potential and of the possible business development
Week 2
Business model types and their application to the drone industry
- Business model concept and different business models types
Week 3
Regulations and data surrounding drones
- Use of data and applicable regulations related to business applications of drones
Week 4
From new business ideas to value propositions
- New business ideas, Value proposition design
Week 5
Designing a business model for a new business idea (part a)
- Analysis of a market opportunity and development of the customers area of the Business Model Canvas (Customers Segments, Customer Relationships and Channels)
Week 6
Designing a business model for a new business idea (part b)
- Analysis of the resources, activities and partnerships required for a new business idea. Development of the Infrastructure and financial viability side of a Business Model Canvas
Week 7
Business ecosystems and sustainability and the risk of a business idea
- Business ecosystems and distribution of value. Risk analysis and evaluation of impact and sustainability of business ideas
Week 8
Presenting a new business idea to stakeholders
- Presentation of a business idea and communication with stakeholders to support adoption
Course learning outcomes
After studying this course, learners should be able to:
- understand the development and growth of the drone industry and emerging innovations in the agricultural, forestry and rural sectors.
- identify a business idea in the drone industry
- identify and map the stakeholders of a business idea.
